Kirkland police: 9 juveniles arrested when caught attempting to steal Kia

The nine juvenile suspects were arrested on suspicion of attempted motor vehicle theft, possession of a stolen vehicle and obstruction.

KIRKLAND, Wash. — Kirkland police said nine juveniles were arrested Sunday when they were caught in the act of attempting to steal a vehicle.

The Kirkland Police Department said officers responded to a report of suspicious activity at the Juanita Country Club condo complex on April 21. A resident of the community called police and reported two vehicles entered the complex at a high rate of speed, with several people wearing ski masks.

Arriving officers reportedly found the suspects attempting to steal a Kia and apprehended several of them, while multiple suspects fled the area on foot.

Kirkland police, with aid from Bothell and Bellevue law enforcement, arrested the five suspects who fled the scene. Police said community members helped law enforcement by calling to report the location of the suspects fleeing through yards.
