NORTH BEND, Wash — The former CEO of Seattle Humane was identified as the man involved in a murder-suicide in North Bend on Jan. 31.
The King County Medical Examiner's Office identified the two people found as Judy Loewe and David Loewe, the former CEO, both of whom were 60 years old.
Additional details were been revealed in a North Bend death investigation, with police saying one of the bodies was found in a large freezer.
Snoqualmie-North Bend police first responded to the home at 964 Stone Brook Drive SW on the afternoon of Jan. 31 after maintenance workers found a man dead while conducting a welfare check.
As officers began investigating the home, a second body was discovered in a large freezer in the apartment's garage.
Autopsies were completed on Feb. 5 according to authorities, and it was determined that David died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound and Judy was killed by a single gunshot before being placed in the freezer.
Seattle Humane sent KING 5 a statement that read:
"We are saddened to hear of the passing of former Seattle Humane CEO David Loewe and his wife, Judy. The events surrounding their passing are troubling, and together with our community we are awaiting the results of a full investigation. Our hearts are with those affected by this terrible loss."
