Popular fast-food chicken chain to open first Seattle location

Another major fast-food chain is opening a location in Seattle.

SEATTLE — A fast food chain that has been lauded as having the "best chain fried chicken" in the country will be opening its first Seattle location.

Jollibee's first Seattle location will be in Rainier Valley Square at 3820 Rainier Avenue South, according to the developer's website.

Western Washington already has one Jollibee location in Tukwila, and its website lists another location coming soon to Tacoma on South Steele Street.

Jollibee, originally founded in the Philippines, has over 1,500 locations around the world, including 95 in North America.

The chain is best known for its "Chickenjoy," its fried chicken that Eater ranked as its best chain fried chicken in the U.S. last year. Other popular items, according to the company's website, are "deliciously savory hamburgers, sweet-style Jolly Spaghetti, and scrumptious Peach Mango Pie made with real Philippine mangoes."

Jollibee joins several other large fast-food chicken chains that are expanding operations in western Washington.

Raising Cane's filed plans for its first Washington state location earlier this year and then added another in Renton.

Chick-fil-A also has filed plans for a second Bellevue location on 148th Avenue NE, according to the Puget Sound Business Journal.

The Jollibee location already appears on Google Maps but is not listed on the official Jollibee website as of yet. A company spokesperson told SEA Today that the restaurant will open in "late 2024."
