Does your dog have a face only a mother could love? If so, Fido's moment to shine could be right around the corner.

The 27th annual World's Ugliest Dog Contest is set to take place on June 26 at the Sonoma-Marin Fair in Petaluma, Calif., and contest organizers are currently accepting entries.

"We celebrate the spirit and imperfections that make these dogs loveable and adoptable," said Sarah Cummings, the CEO of Sonoma-Marin Fair, in a statement. Many of the contestants in the past have been rescued by their owners from puppy mills and shelters.

To enter a pet, dog owners must do the following by midnight on June 25:

1. Download and complete the contest entry form on the contest's website.

2. Submit a high-resolution close-up photo of the dog along with a bio and a health certificate showing up-to-date vaccinations

3. Pay a $10 entry fee.

Dogs will be judged in person on "appearance, personality and audience interaction" in Petaluma on June 26, according to the fair's website.

For the first time this year, one award will be given to the World's Ugliest Dog (in previous years there were two awards -- one for pedigree dogs and one for mutts) and another award given called the "Spirit Award."

The Spirit Award honors "a dog and owner who have overcome obstacles and/or are providing service to the community based on the dog's biography," according the fair's website.
