Ben & Jerry's offers free cones April 14

Does anyone really need another ice cream cone with summer coming up so soon?

Well, what if it were free? It doesn't count, right?

If you are so inclined to deal with the calories, it is Free Cone Day at Ben & Jerry's from noon-8 p.m. at certain locations.

Interestingly enough, the company is taking an online poll to see which flavors folks will most likely pick.

Cherry Garcia is in the lead (no surprise there), with Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough in second and Chocolate Fudge Brownie in third.

Oh, and you can get seconds, unlike Dairy Queen, which let customers receive only one vanilla cone when they had their freebie day in March.

Some young folks in the promotional video said they went back in line five to seven times for ice cream. Eek.

So again, it may be tempting and somewhat rewarding but watch your waistline. Coming back to the Ben & Jerry's store three times is only going to hurt you unless you have a 13-year-old's metabolism.
