Seahawks get first road loss as LA Rams overpower them 28-12

The Seahawks faced the Rams game during primetime on Sunday Night Football on KING 5.

The Seattle Seahawks could've clinched a playoff berth when they visited the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday night.

The first half did not go Seattle's way. The Rams took a commanding 21-3 at halftime.

The Hawks scored a pick-6 in the 3rd quarter, but missed the field goal. They would go on to add another field goal for 12 total points.

But the Rams increased their lead to a final score of 28-12 over the Seahawks.

Rams quarterback Jared Goff passed for 293 yards and threw touchdown passes to Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp.

Russell Wilson passed for 245 yards, but was sacked five times.

The Rams won for the fifth time in seven games to improve their playoff hopes, while the Seahawks fell a game behind San Francisco atop the NFC West.

These NFC West rivals' first meeting of the season two months ago was decided by a missed field goal from normally reliable Rams kicker Greg Zuerlein with 11 seconds left.

The Seahawks topped the Rams in a wild 30-29 finish on Oct. 3. Their record now stands at 10-2.

The 49ers reclaimed the lead in the NFC West on Sunday with a high-scoring  win over the Saints, with a final score of 48-46.

Seattle had previously won eight of ten to surge into first place in the NFC West last week.

The Rams had previously gone 4-5 in their last nine games to sit one game out of the second NFC wild card playoff spot.
