Snow sticking in parts of South Sound Sunday

Western Washington may miss out on additional accumulating snowfall. Forecast models are in better agreement that Portland will get snow instead of us.

More snow fell in parts of Puget Sound Sunday morning, mostly from upper elevations of Puyallup, Auburn, and down south towards the Key Peninsula.

Viewers shared footage of snow sticking with several inches of accumulation in parts. Temperatures will peak around 40 degrees Sunday, with winds up to 15 mph.

Looking ahead to the week, the latest forecast models show any significant snowfall will miss western Washington Sunday evening into Monday.

There's a system over the Pacific Ocean that could take two possible tracks. A more southerly track, which is most likely, would bring less snowfall to Puget Sound. A more northerly track, which is less likely, would bring more snow to the region.

The graphic here shows four different possibilities for Monday. The emerging pattern shows a decreasing chance of snowfall for most western Washington lowlands, with continued snowfall for the mountains and south-central Washington into Oregon.
