Seahawks fans swarm London for Sunday's game

Seahawks fans are known to travel well — even to jolly old London.

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and his wife Ciara traveled to London this summer to promote the UK’s International series ahead of the team’s Week 6 matchup against the Raiders.

And he discovered something interesting during his trip... the 12s were everywhere.

“That’s one thing I noticed in a big, big way last time I came in the summer was just how many Seahawks fans were here and how much energy was around us coming here and everything else,” Wilson said during his Friday press conference. “So we’re expecting, as always, Seahawks fans are going to travel really, really well.

“We believe we travel probably the best there is in football – American football, that is – so it’s pretty exciting.”

The Seahawks vs. Raiders game on Sunday will mark the first of three games slated to be played in London this season as a part of the UK’s International Series. The NFL has gone to extensive measures to promote the overseas matchups and has developed a devoted following across all borders. “The game is really expanding around the world,” Wilson explained. “I think in terms of for us, the Seahawks, just to be able to go break outside of our walls every once in a while, go outside, come out here to London, about a nine-hour flight for us, get here and just we’re going to feel the energy on Sunday and we know that.”

The Seahawks have planned a number of activities for fans throughout the week and encourage everyone to use the hashtag #12sEverywhere to prove just how big the Seattle fanbase truly is.
