KING 5, local shelters team up to Clear the Shelters Saturday

Since 2015, Clear the Shelters has helped 153,651 pets find forever homes.

Nearly 700 shelters across the country are teaming up for Clear the Shelters, the fourth annual nationwide pet adoption drive on Saturday, Aug. 18, that helps find loving homes for animals in need.

Last year, more than 80,000 pets were adopted from over 900 shelters across the country. Since 2015, Clear the Shelters has helped 153,651 pets find forever homes.

Here are the participating shelters in Western Washington:

Auburn Valley Humane Society at 4910 A Street SE, Auburn, WA 98092 or call 253-249-7849. Auburn Valley Humane Society is offering 50% off adoption fees for all adult cats and select "staff favorite" dogs.

Homeward Pet Adoption Center at 13132 NE 177th Place, Woodinville, WA 98072 or call 425-488-4444. Homeward Pet Adoption Center is waiving fees on all animals over the age of three on August 18.

Seattle Humane at 13212 SE Eastgate Way, Bellevue WA 98005 or 425-641-0080.Seattle Humane is offering 50% off fees of adult pets on August 18.
