ARLINGTON, Wash. — Authorities say the driver who caused a fatal crash on Interstate 5 in Washington state had a suspended license and was driving without a required ignition interlock.
The Daily Herald of Everett reports that 56-year-old Aaron Gentry, of Tulalip, was speeding the wrong way on I-5 near Arlington Sunday and crashed head-on into another car.
The crash killed 28-year-old Miriam Robinson, of Albany, Oregon. Debris from the crash hit three other vehicles.
Records show Gentry had his driver's license suspended in March for reckless driving. He also was driving without a required ignition device that ensures a driver is sober before the car starts.
Gentry was booked into jail on investigation of vehicular homicide and other charges. A Snohomish County judge on Monday set his bail at $500,000.
