Sketch of Montesano attacker released

Police hope the public can help track down an attacker seen driving a blue Chevrolet Avalanche pickup truck.
Police released a sketch of the Montesano attacker. He's described as a male in his late 20's or early 30's, light skinned, thin build, possibly Hispanic.

Montesano Police released a sketch Friday afternoon of the man they believe attacked a woman Wednesday night.

Police say the man could be Hispanic, is light skinned with a thin build, and is probably in his late 20’s or early 30’s.

Surveillance video captured the suspect's blue Chevrolet Avalanche. Police say it has tinted rear windows and chrome/aluminum wheels.

AnnMarie Shuck says the man tried to force her into his pickup as she was walking home from work Wednesday night. The attack happened near the intersection of Church Street and McBryde Avenue.

Shuck says she never had a reason to fear walking home from work alone until now.

“I was scared to go outside to check the mail today,” said Shuck, who fought off the man.

“It was really, really scary,” said Shuck. “There was a moment when I thought, ‘I’m going to die.'”

Shuck was nearly home after working her shift at a pizza restaurant. Around 8:30 p.m. the man parked his Chevy Avalanche pickup beside her and said he had a flat tire. Instead, she told police he grabbed her and tried to drag her into the passenger seat.

“I just dropped my body weight,” said Shuck, who started kicking the man and screaming.

Neighbors who heard the yells saw the truck speed away.

“I ran the rest of the way home screaming the whole time trying to get people’s attention,” said Shuck.

She described the man as a light-skinned, Hispanic male in his late 20s or early 30s, with short black hair and a red t-shirt.

Until he’s arrested, Shuck said she’ll be scared.

“I just don’t want this to happen to anyone else,” said Shuck. “I just want him caught.”
