WATCH: Drone video of summer-like Seattle

Hope you enjoyed a taste of summer Thursday because things are going to change in a hurry.

Bye bye record heat!

Yup, we did it again. We broke a record in Bellingham Thursday and tied a record in Seattle. Seattle's high of 82 tied the old record of 82 set back in 1947. It definitely was warm.

Oh, by the way, did you hear that places near North Bend, Redmond and Gig Harbor reached the mid to upper 80s? Yup, North Bend and Redmond topped out at 88! Definitely unseasonal for this time of year, which is why we were able to snag a few records this week.

With all of that being said, everything changes this weekend.

Friday was the transition day of cooler weather moving from the coast into Puget Sound. Temperatures saw a 15-20 degree temperature drop with highs only topping out in the 60s.

By Saturday and Sunday, highs are only in the 50s. We'll have a larger cutoff low move into the Pacific Northwest, creating the cooldown, but also bringing showers back to the region. It looks like we'll have a weekend full of sun breaks and scattered showers. The good news is that it doesn't last all that long. The bad news is it hits us this weekend.

Next week we'll see higher pressure sneak back in and our sunshine will help temperatures sneak back into the upper 60s and lower 70s by mid-week.
