EVERETT — The Everett Silvertips beat the Seattle Thunderbirds 4-1 in Game 1 of their first-round playoff series Friday in Everett.
Garrett Pilon scored at 10:19 of the first period, and the Silvertips never looked back.
Patrick Bajkov scored the next two goals to give Everett a 3-0 lead.
The T-Birds cut Everett's lead to 3-1 at 7:03 in the second when Zack Andrusiak tipped the puck past Everett goalie Carter Hart.
The Silvertips took the three-goal lead back at 10:12 of the second on a goal from Bryce Kindopp.
Everett outshot Seattle 46-26 in the game.
Hart had 25 saves for the Tips.
