5 volunteer opportunities happening this weekend

What does the weekend mean to you? It might mean heading out to brunch with friends, spending time outside, or even taking the time to make an impact on your community. Here are five simple ways to volunteer this weekend throughout the Seattle area.

4. Strong Arms @ Book Sale

Hosted by Friends of The Seattle Public Library

Seattle Center Exhibition Hall

299 Mercer St., Seattle, WA 98109

We need your muscle!

This is a VERY physical job! We're looking for two patron assistants to help out at our upcoming book sale. As a patron assistant you will assist customers with larges purchases to the load zone. This will include lifting boxes on to a cart that will then be pushed outside, up the wheelchair access ramp, and to the street. You may be asked to help load purchases into customer vehicles. You will have a 2-way radio available to communicate with will call and roving counters. This will enable you to assist in other ways at the book sale while you're waiting for customers to check out.

Paton assistants will be a huge comfort to patrons still adjusting to our new location at the Seattle Center's Exhibition Hall.

For more information visit friendsofspl.org or contact the Book Sale program office at booksale@friendsofspl.org or (206) 682-7567
