The Snohomish Council Council voted to ban safe injection sites in unincorporated parts of the county.
The council unanimously passed the ordinance on Wednesday, following a temporary moratorium approved back in September.
Council Member Nate Nehring said he toured a heroin injection site in Vancouver B.C. He saw "nothing safe or compassionate about enabling addiction."
Council Chair Stephanie Wright says they need to focus resources on the increasing demand for law enforcement, social workers, and bed-space in treatment facilities.
