High winds toppled trees and power lines all across the Puget Sound region Saturday.

Whidbey Island appeared to take the worst of the weather. Oak Harbor saw approximately 5,000 homes without power at one point. Gusts on the island topped 60 miles per hour with sustained winds between 20 and 40 miles per hour.

Ferry riders between Mukilteo and Clinton had to hold on when they left the safety of their cars. Waves pushed the massive boat around on several crossings. Whitecaps battered the bow of the boat spraying cars with salty water. Two ferry runs between Coupeville and Port Townsend were canceled.

There were dozens of reports of downed trees and power lines throughout the region. Multiple utility companies reported thousands were without power.
