Quidditch has been sweeping across the nation (pun 100% intended) ever since the Harry Potter series debuted in 2005.

Now, the 2018 Northwest Regional Quidditch Championship is coming to Lacey, Washington.

The top three teams from Washington, Idaho, and Oregon will compete at the Lacey Thurston Athletic Complex on February 17-18, 2018 to qualify for the US Quidditch Cup.

This is no magical joke. The competitive sport is full-contact with more than 300 college, high school, and community teams playing nationwide.

And kids can hop on a broom themselves! US Quidditch will be teaching elementary, middle school, and high school students how to play quidditch during the tournament.

So, dust off your Nimbus 2000 and head to the tournament. The event is free and open to the public.

Lacey Thurston Regional Athletic Complex is located at 8345 Steilacoom Rd SE, Olympia, WA 98513
