Kent police officers are investigating a shooting near Highline College after an attempted robbery.
Officers responded to the school's campus shortly before 7 p.m. Monday night. A man was shot in the leg next to the college before he was driven to a nearby 7-Eleven in the 26000 block of Pacific Hwy, according to a police spokesperson.
Aid personnel were dispatched to the 7-Eleven and transported the victim to a nearby hospital. His injuries are non-life threatening.
A second man sustained a minor injury, it is not yet known how he is tied to the shooting.
Update (10:05 p.m.): An earlier version of this story stated the shooting occurred at Highline College. The Kent Police Dept. made a correction, stating the shooting happened on a sidewalk near the campus.
